Some Information About The Baptist Page

  • We are not a commercial venture. No profit of any kind is made from this site. In fact, we do not sell anything on this site. Any revenue created through Amazon.com, Christian Book Distributors, or Joshua Press goes toward the purchase of books which we review on this site.
  • We are not a portal. This is an interactive, educational site. Our goal is not to be a catchall site which has a little something for everyone.
  • We are an information site. The Baptist Page seeks to provide the most attractive and content rich source for material related to Baptists on the Internet.
  • We are more than just Baptist. Our section, "not quite Baptist", offers information and on-line books by and about believers outside the Baptist tradition.

Visit our sister site, "not quite Baptist."

We are always looking for articles from our readers. If you have any source materials which could be placed on the site they would be most appreciated. Sermons, church histories, etc.. are welcomed. Just e-mail those to the WebDesigner.

Histories: We've added a new section at The Baptist Page called Histories. If you would like to submit a history of a Baptist church, association or convention please e-mail them to The Baptist Page.

There has been some interesting response to our recognition of the remarkable 92 year life of W.A. Criswell. Most has been positive while a few have questioned some of Criswell's stands through the years. We welcome your input concerning Dr. Criswell's life and teaching. Please do not e-mail opinions based on conjecture or third-part information. We are looking for input from those who read his books and heard him preach. E-mail your input to us here at The Baptist Page.

E-mail and Response:

From Barry in North Carolina: I am researching the possibility of pursuing an SBC pastorate. Can you tell me, or can you tell me where is the best place to find detailed
info on what most SBC church leaders believe about: Predestination, Unconditional election, Eternal security, and Tribulation? Thanks for the help!

  • Ed. Note: Anyone care to take this one on. E-mail your answers to Barry at ewks@earthlink.net.

From New Orleans, Louisiana: Does anyone have information on Dan Taylor and the New Connection?

  • Ed.Note: If you have any source material you can make available to The Baptist Page on this subject please e-mail to us

From Virginia: I'm frustrated over the division in the Baptist Churches of the Southern Baptist Convention. I'm reminded of Titus 3:1-11 as I review the increasingly disparate positions of the two camps. As I contemplate attending Seminary, I am seriously being led to consider a non-Baptist school - one that focuses on Jesus Christ and Truth as opposed to the latest and greatest earthly ego on stage. May the Lord bring us back to a time of unity and God-centeredness. Amen.

  • Ed. Note: This is one the latest additions to our GuestBook. What do you think? If you would like to respond to this letter visit our Guestbook and send the writer an e-mail

From Backus Books: I have visited the Baptist Page on several occasions and have enjoyed it very much ... thought you might be interested in taking a look at our new website for Backus Books. You can find it at www.backusbooks.com. ... I noticed that you had the full text for the Adams book, Baptists, the Only Thorough Religious Reformers, on your site. This was the first book we did when we started to publish. You may be interested to know that we did two printings and sold over 6,000 of these little books. We have sold over 10,000 of the 1644 (second edition, 1646) and hope to do another printing of 5,000 in the very near future. With the other titles we have, my guess would be that we have moved close to 30,000 books in the last few years. While this sounds like a lot, it is only a drop in the bucket and we hope that the internet will expand our exposure and enable our market to grow.

I trust the Lord will bless your work.
