RECREATION
| What more could you want for amusement than water,
sand and sunsets? Wherever you go in Mobile and
Baldwin counties, you are never far from the water and its many forms of
recreation. The white sand beaches of the Alabama
Gulf Coast are favorite vacation places. Both freshwater and saltwater
fishing are exceptionally good and there are all kinds of boating and beach
activities to keep you busy. |

For sailors, coastal Alabama supports
a number of yacht clubs and yachting events including
the nationally acclaimed Dauphin Island race.
You can also hike the Bon Secour national wildlife
refuge and Gulf State Park trails for a view of native plants and animals.
The area has its share of sophisticated
entertainment, too - - - for example, theater, opera and
orchestra performances. |
| Outstanding championship golf
courses include the two courses at Lakewood Golf Club at Marriott's Grand
Hotel in Point Clear, Rock Creek in Fairhope,
and Magnolia Grove, a 54-hole championship course west of Mobile, named
"best value" by Golf Digest. Magnolia Grove is one of seven
courses that make up Alabama's Robert Trent Jones golf trail. |
