Mitchella Repens Partridgeberry

Mitchella Repens Partridgeberry is an excellent choice for beds, borders, ground cover, and underplantings. Partridgeberry prefers partial to full shade and humus-rich, moist, acidic, well-drained soils. The perennial is adorned with small, rounded, glossy leaves that are dark green with paler veins. Pairs of fragrant, tiny, trumpet-shaped flowers appear above the lush foliage. The blossoms are white with pink shades and bloom from spring to fall. Partridgeberry has a ground-hugging habit with trailing stems. It produces long-lasting, red, edible, but tasteless berries that persist throughout the winter.
