Solanum Melongena Eggplant

Solanum Melongena Eggplant is an ornamental shrub that prefers full sun and thrives in acidic, well-drained, moist soils. It has bright green or purplish-tinged, alternate, simple, ovate to oblong leaves with 5-9 lobes and star-shaped hairs. Eggplant produces funnel-shaped, purple flowers with 5 to 6 pointed lobes with yellow centers. It is suitable for growing in containers. The flowers turn into small, glossy, elongated fruits that are purple when ripe, containing tiny pale yellow to flat brown seeds.
