Crataegus Viridis Green Hawthorn

Crataegus Viridis Green Hawthorn is a dense, rounded, spineless tree that becomes a broad spreading crown on growing fully. Green Hawthorn is adorned with shiny, dark green, oval to elliptic, serrated leaves. The leaves are shallowly lobed on the upper surfaces, and they turn purple to red during fall. In May, masses of aromatic, white blooms appear on Green Hawthorn. The blooms give way to winter-persistent, tiny, red pomes that mature in September. The mature trunks reveal orange inner barks. The ornamental tree grows easily in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun. It is an ideal choice for lawns and streets.
