Physocarpus Opulifolius Center Glow Ninebark

Physocarpus Opulifolius Center Glow Ninebark is a mounded, vase-shaped ninebark cultivar that typically reaches an adult height and width of 6 to 8 feet. Ovate to rounded, generally three-lobed, maple-like leaves emerge in the spring and start greenish-gold in color before maturing to burgundy. Small pinkish-white, five-petaled flowers that appear in dense, flat, spherical clusters contrast the foliage. On mature branches, the shrubs of this genus have exfoliating bark. The inner bark, which is reddish to light brown, is exposed in layers when the bark peels off in strips. Center Glow Ninebark does best in average, slightly acidic, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soil, and full sun to part shade. It is ideal for hedges.
