Anemopsis Californica Yerba Mansa prefers permanently moist soil and full sun or partial shade. It has large, fleshy, deep green leaves that acquire red tints in the cold and turn brick red in the fall. The foliage has a strong, spicy, musty aroma. Yerba Mansa bears spiky, cone-like clusters of tiny, aromatic, white flowers during late spring and summer. This edible shrub is excellent for groundcover, ponds, and streams.
