Description

This compact evergreen to semi-evergreen shrub, derived from the Chinese native species Lonicera ligustrina var. yunnanensis, features dense, fine textured foliage reminiscent of boxwood but with the added benefit of spring white tubular honeysuckle-type blooms and dark berries. The cultivar ‘Brilliame’, trademarked as Ophelia™, was selected for its refined habit and attractive foliage that holds up in sun and resists leaf burn, making it an excellent small-scale hedge or accent plant. The parent species is valued for its versatility and low pest/disease profile.
