Prunus Emarginata Bitter Cherry

Prunus Emarginata Bitter Cherry is an ornamental tree that is suitable for bank stabilizations, bee landscapes, and hedges. It produces tiny clusters of white blooms with 5 notched petals. Bitter Cherry requires full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, loam, or sandy loam soils with good drainage. It has ovate or elliptical, finely toothed leaves that are dark green and smooth on top and pale underneath. The fruit is ovoid, round, red, or black, with thin skin and bitter pulp. The tree has a thicket-forming habit with a tall, slender crown and branches. Its upright bark is reddish-brown or grayish-bronze, smooth, and has prominent horizontal lenticels.
