Description

Iris germanica ‘MGgrpdlt24’ – marketed as Grape Delight™ Bearded Iris – is a striking tall bearded iris noted for its large, deep-purple blooms with a contrasting yellow throat and a unique fragrance reminiscent of grape-flavored bubblegum. The plant produces attractive blue-green, upright foliage that remains clean and attractive throughout the season and forms clumping rhizomes that grow 24–36″ tall and 18–24″ wide, blooming in May to June in USDA zones 3–9. Grape Delight™ was introduced through Midwest Groundcovers’ “Bud and Bloom” and “New to Midwest” series and is gaining popularity, though there are no noted awards at this time.
