Description

Sempervivum × ‘Northern Lights Mixture’ is a colorful, cold‑hardy succulent mix of hens and chicks that displays jewel‑toned hues—ranging from frosty blue and pink to fiery orange and purple—especially in cooler weather. It forms low, evergreen mats of rosettes (hens and offsets called chicks) that spread via stolons to create dense clumps. Highly drought‑ and frost‑tolerant, it thrives in poor, rocky, well‑drained soils with full to partial sun, requiring minimal maintenance. Each rosette ultimately blooms in summer and dies (monocarpic), but the colony persists via offsets. It is well suited to rock gardens, alpine settings, xeriscaping, and containers, offering year‑round visual interest.
