Catalpa Bungei Manchurian Catalpa is a shade tree that requires full to partial sun exposure and moist, fertile, hilly areas with well-drained soil. Manchurian Catalpa has opposite, glabrous, shiny, dark green, large, heart-shaped leaves. During the summer, pink or white flowers bloom. The barks, stems, and leaves of the tree are used for medicinal purposes. The fruits emerge as long, bean-like pods after flowering. The tree is also used in the production of lotions and poultices, which are used in the treatment of cancer.
