Description

Spring Frost™ is a compact, spreading evergreen shrub in the witch‐hazel family (Hamamelidaceae), bred as Distylium hybrid ‘sPg-3-007’ (PP 25,833) and introduced through the Southern Plant Group / Star Roses & Plants portfolio. It features striking new foliage that emerges golden white with red‐tinged margins, later maturing into green, and in late winter it produces petite red “tassel‐like” flowers before leaf emergence. Its spreading, moderate growth habit, combination of colorful foliage and early blossoms, and adaptability to a range of soils and exposures make it a standout choice for low-hedge, foundation, or accent plantings.
