Description

Lavandula × intermedia ‘Riverina Thomas’ is a vigorous triploid lavandin cultivar, bred for robust growth, long tapered purple flower spikes and exceptional essential oil yield. It features grey-green aromatic foliage, a mounded habit of roughly 2-3 ft tall and wide, and blooms in summer with potential for a repeat flush in the fall. Originating from Australia (via breeder Clive Larkman) as a mutation of ‘Grosso’, this cultivar is noted for yielding up to five times the aromatic oil of its parent lavandins, making it valued both for ornamental landscapes and for commercial oil/distillation use.
