Description

Aeonium tabuliforme, commonly known as the saucer plant or dinner plate aeonium, is a striking succulent native to Tenerife in the Canary Islands. It is renowned for its nearly flat, symmetrical rosettes of fleshy, bright green leaves that can span up to 18 inches in diameter. This low-growing plant thrives on moist, north-facing cliffs and ledges at low altitudes. Typically, it takes 3–4 years to flower, producing a tall raceme of yellow flowers, after which the plant dies—a characteristic known as being monocarpic. Aeonium tabuliforme has been recognized for its ornamental value, earning the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
