Artocarpus Heterophyllus Jackfruit

Artocarpus Heterophyllus Jackfruit is a fruit tree that requires semi-shade or no shade and prefers free-draining, acidic to neutral soils. It has evergreen, alternate, shiny, and leathery leaves and oblong to deeply lobed leaves on young shoots. The tree produces oblong clusters of small male blooms and elliptic or rounded clusters of female blooms. Jackfruit has huge fruits with green or yellow exteriors when ripe. The interior consists of several hard, conical points connected to thick, rubbery, pale yellow or whitish walls and has yellow, banana-flavored flesh. Jackfruit can be used for treating fever, diarrhea, and asthma.
