Description

Italian Cypress is a tall, narrow coniferous evergreen native to the eastern Mediterranean and western Asia that has been cultivated for centuries in formal gardens and cemetery plantings, particularly in Italy and Iran. In landscaping it is most often seen in the fastigiate (upright, pencil-like) form, with dense scale-like foliage and a striking columnar silhouette, offering strong vertical structure in the garden. It tolerates dry, well-drained soils, is relatively drought‐tolerant once established, and its aromatic foliage and classical form give it enduring ornamental appeal.
