Larix Laricina Tamarack

Larix Laricina Tamarack is a small to medium-sized, deciduous tree with an upright, pyramidal form. Tamarack is covered in light blue-green needles that become bright yellow in fall. It produces conical, bright red cones that turn brown and open to release the seeds when they mature. The gray, smooth, young bark becomes scaly and reddish brown. The shade tree grows best in acidic, moist, well-drained soils under full sunlight. It is perfect for specimen plantings in a large landscape.
