Description
Magnolia X Soulangeana Saucer Magnolia has dark green, elliptical leaves with sharply pointed tips. The leaves emerge reddish-bronze and turn yellow-brown in fall. From mid to late April, huge cup-like, white, pink, or purple flowers envelop Saucer Magnolia. The blooms are followed by fruits with knobby surfaces that mature in August and September. The deciduous tree is fond of full sun and moist, fertile, deep soils with high organic matter. Saucer Magnolia exhibits a rounded to irregular pattern of growth. It is perfect as a landscape specimen or accent
