Podocarpus Macrophyllus Portfolio Yew Plum Pine

Podocarpus macrophyllus, commonly known as the Yew Plum Pine, is an adaptable evergreen conifer native to southern Japan and China. It features narrow, leathery, dark green leaves and can be cultivated as a shrub or small tree. Its dense, upright branching and tolerance for pruning make it ideal for hedges, screens, or specimen plantings. The plant produces inconspicuous flowers that give way to fleshy, purple-blue arils. Thriving in full sun to partial shade, it prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soils and exhibits resistance to deer and various pests.
