Description
Quercus Alba White Oak is an excellent choice for specimen plantings. White Oak is a large, deciduous tree with a pyramidal growth habit initially that becomes oval-rounded to rounded with age. Pink leaves emerge in spring, mature to dark green, and turn to russet-red in the fall. In spring, inconspicuous, yellowish-green catkins appear on the tree. Its ash gray checked and scaled bark add ornamental value. This shade tree grows best in rich, dry to moist, acidic, well-drained, loamy soils under full sunlight. It bears rich brown, oval acorns.
