Quercus Frainetto Italian Oak

Quercus Frainetto Italian Oak is a shade tree that prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained acidic soils. Italian Oak's large, deeply lobed leaves have dark green color above and pale yellow-green underneath with minute russet hairs and turn an attractive russet in fall. The tree produces pollen flowers in drooping, elongated clusters in spring, and light brown acorns are borne in groups of 2-5. Italian Oak is suitable for lawns and meadows and has an oval habit. Its bark is first gray and smooth, later brown and fissured.
