Description

Leucothoe Populifolia Florida Doghobble is a multi-stemmed evergreen shrub that can grow to be 8 to 12 feet tall. On arching stems, glossy, simple, alternate, leathery, rich green leaves grow. Its foliage, which is copper-red on new growth, remains green throughout the winter. Fragrant, bell-shaped, creamy white urceolate flowers appear in axillary racemes from mid-spring to early summer. Florida Doghobble is an excellent choice for a hedge or foundation shrub. It thrives in moist, organic, loamy, acidic soils that receive deep to partial shade.
