Description

This dwarf, narrow‐columnar conifer is a selection of the native Californian tree Hesperocyparis macrocarpa (formerly Cupressus macrocarpa) and is prized for its dense golden-yellow, lemon-scented foliage that retains its bright colour year-round under full sun. The selection arose as a mutant of the cultivar ‘Goldcrest’ and carries a notably compact, upright form ideally suited to small gardens, containers or as an accent evergreen. It tolerates lean, well-drained soils and once established is drought-tolerant, making it a low-maintenance yet striking landscape choice. The parent ‘Goldcrest’ cultivar has earned the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
