Ginkgo Biloba Clica Maidenhair Tree

Ginkgo biloba 'Clica', also known as 'Folker's Select', is a dwarf cultivar of the ancient Maidenhair Tree, prized for its compact size and ornamental appeal. This slow-growing deciduous tree forms a dense, rounded to slightly spreading canopy, reaching approximately 3 to 5 feet in both height and width over a decade. Its distinctive fan-shaped leaves are smaller than those of typical Ginkgo trees, featuring a ruffled texture and a bright green hue that transforms into a vibrant yellow in the fall, adding seasonal interest to gardens and landscapes. Due to its modest stature and attractive foliage, 'Clica' is well-suited for small gardens, urban landscapes, and container planting. It thrives in full sun and adapts to a range of soil types, provided they are well-drained. The cultivar's resilience and unique characteristics were recognized by the American Conifer Society, which named it the 2020 Collectors' Conifer of the Year.
