Happy Customers Pay More

Charge a premium for premium products. Quality irrigation is an investment that saves money, water, and time in the long run. Provide higher performing systems by installing better products that save the homeowner money in the long run.

Better Products Use Less Water

According to the EPA1, the average household with installed pressure regulated spray heads can save approximately 2,400 gallons of water per year, nearly 50 gallons per week. More cities are charging higher rates for water usage. Save yourself time and customers’ money by installing water saving, premium irrigation products.

One product that can help customers save water is pressure regulating spray heads. Pressure regulating spray heads can easily save 15 gallons per week per sprinkler when reducing pressure from 40 PSI to 30 PSI on a 15-foot radius half-pattern spray head with an average run time of 60 minutes per week. This calculation is based on a 10 PSI decrease. These heads can reduce pressure by 20 or 30 PSI in other settings which could save double to triple the amount of water.

For a typical residential installation, you bid a job for 10 15-foot radius spray heads. This will be a savings of 15 gallons per sprinkler times 10 sprinklers which equals 150 gallons of water per week. Then, multiply 150 gallons by how many weeks per year the irrigation runs. This produces annual water savings.

Rain Bird's water savings calculators are perfect for calculating water savings for different sized projects.

Installing pressure-regulating spray heads is one of the simplest ways to save customers money and water. It takes little additional labor to install, and it has a strong return on investment for customers residing in water saving regions.

It's a win-win situation.
