Ilex X Koehneana Wirt L. Winn Holly is an evergreen tree with distinctive dark green, shiny foliage. Wirt L. Winn Holly is dense and has an upright-pyramidal habit. The new leaves emerge with a reddish tint and become slightly twisted along the margins on maturing. Small, white blooms appear on Wirt L. Winn Holly in May and June. It thrives in full or mostly sun, morning sun with dappled or afternoon shade, morning shade with evening sun, and well-drained, moist to somewhat dry soils. Wirt L. Winn Holly is noted for producing red berries. It makes for an excellent specimen or privacy screen.
