Description

Juniperus virginiana ‘Pendula’, commonly known as the Weeping Eastern Red Cedar, is a distinctive weeping cultivar of the native Eastern Red Cedar featuring gracefully drooping branchlets and secondary branches that lend it an elegant, cascading form. Cultivated in England before 1850, different clones have since been developed in North America. This evergreen conifer can reach 35–45 ft tall with a 15–25 ft spread in sunny conditions. The foliage is green year-round, developing a slight brownish tint in winter, and the female trees bear ornamental blue berry-like cones attractive to wildlife.
