Description

Actaea × ‘Chocoholic’ is a striking herbaceous perennial celebrated for its deep bronze-purple, finely cut foliage and dramatically tall, bottlebrush-like flower spikes. Bred by the renowned plantsman Chris Ghyselen of Belgium, this hybrid was selected for its exceptionally dark foliage and strong garden performance, making it one of the most ornamental bugbanes available today. Its late-season wands of soft pink buds open to fragrant white flowers that rise well above the foliage, creating an elegant, architectural statement in shade gardens. ‘Chocoholic’ has been widely praised by horticulturists and specialty nurseries for its unique coloration, intoxicating fragrance, and superior vigor compared to older Cimicifuga/Actaea forms.
