Panicum Virgatum Shenandoah Switch Grass

Panicum Virgatum 'Shenandoah' Switch Grass is noted for its colorful foliage. 'Shenandoah' Switch Grass has a narrow clump of steely blue-green spring foliage that avails red tones by early summer and turns violet, burgundy, purple, and wine-red by early fall. This ornamental grass has an erect, compact form. Fine-textured, reddish-pink flower plumes cover 'Shenandoah' Switch Grass in late summer. The flowers and foliage turn beige in fall and last throughout the winter. The perennial grass is ideal for beds, borders, hedges, and accents. 'Shenandoah' Switch Grass thrives in average, medium to wet, well-drained soils in full sun.
