Peltophorum Pterocarpum Yellow Poiniana consists of bipinnately compound dark green leaves with 7 to 15 primary leaflets and 8 to 20 secondary leaves. The leaves have paler green undersides. The showy yellow aromatic flowers with brown pubescence cover Yellow Poiniana from spring to fall. The ornamental tree is suitable for shades and specimens. Yellow Poiniana is best grown in alkaline to acidic, well-drained to occasionally wet, sandy, clay, and loamy soils and full sun. The tree produces dry or hard, flat-winged coppery red to black pods.
