Stewartia Pseudocamellia Japanese Stewartia is prized for the flaky ornamental bark that peels to reveal orange, gray, and reddish-brown stripes. Japanese Stewartia produces cup-shaped, delicate, white flowers with showy orange-yellow anthers, blooming in early summer in the leaf axils. The deciduous ornamental tree with a pyramidal growth habit bears ovate, dark green leaves that turn red, burgundy, and orange in fall. Japanese Stewartia is ideal for beds and borders.
