Pinus Strobus Stowe Pillar Eastern White Pine

‘Stowe Pillar’ is a distinct columnar selection of Eastern White Pine discovered by Greg Williams of Kate Brook Nursery near Stowe Mountain, Vermont, named in tribute to the renowned ski resort. It boasts an exceptionally narrow form—narrower even than the popular ‘Fastigiata’—with dense upward-pointing branches that handle heavy, wet snow exceptionally well. Its needles emerge creamy-white in spring and mature into a silvery blue‑green that persists year‑round, giving it a soft, elegant texture. The cultivar is low-maintenance, adaptable to a range of acidic, well-drained soil types (including compacted silt or clay), and demonstrates resistance to drought, deer, and rabbit damage—making it a superb choice for tight spaces, vertical accents, containers, or privacy screens.
