Making your own brine is easy with a Turbo Turf BM-450 Brine Maker. Just add rock salt and water and 25minutes you will have 23.3% salt brine. You may use bagged salt, bulk salt or sea salt. It requires 2.288 lbs. of salt to make 1 gal. 23.3% sodium chloride brine. Making your own salt brine can cost less than 10 cents a gallon, a fraction of what you would pay buying liquid deicers ready to spray. You can also make your own hot brine good to 5 degrees for as little as 20 cents a gallon by adding 10% liquid calcium chloride to your salt brine.
