The In2Care® Mosquito Station uses egg-laying Aedes and Culex mosquitoes to kill mosquito larvae inside and in surrounding breeding sites. This mechanism, known as autodissemination, occurs due to the attachment of a larvicide to the adult mosquito body when she comes in contact with the floater gauze. The second active ingredient on the gauze is a biological pest control agent (adulticide), a fungus that weakens the mosquitoes, prevents virus development, and kills the adult mosquitoes before they can transmit diseases such as Dengue fever, Chikungunya fever, and West Nile virus.
