Description

Hydrangea quercifolia ‘Brido’, marketed as ‘Snowflake’ Oakleaf Hydrangea, is a deciduous, multi-stemmed shrub known for its striking double white flower panicles that bloom on second-year wood, gradually fading to pink and then brown, and its deeply lobed, oak‑like foliage that turns rich maroon or purple in autumn. Mature stems exfoliate to reveal attractive cinnamon-brown bark, adding winter interest. Introduced from a chance seedling discovered in Alabama in the early 1970s by Aldridge Nursery, it has become a sought-after ornamental for its long-lasting blooms and four-season appeal; it has also earned the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit
