Microbiota decussata 'Condavis', known as Fuzzball™ Siberian Carpet Cypress, is a compact evergreen conifer distinguished by its soft, fuzzy, bright green foliage that transitions to a purplish-brown hue in winter. Discovered as a branch sport of its parent species by the Conard-Pyle Company, this cultivar maintains its juvenile foliage and exhibits a more upright, vase-shaped habit compared to the typical prostrate form of the species. Its fine texture and unique coloration make it a valuable addition to various landscape settings, particularly in rock gardens, borders, and as groundcover. Fuzzball™ is exceptionally cold-hardy, thriving in USDA zones 2 through 8, and is noted for its low maintenance requirements and resistance to deer.
