Salvia greggii ‘Mirage® Blue’ (trade name “Mirage Blue Autumn Sage,” sometimes sold under the breeding name ‘Balmirleu’) is a compact, heat-tolerant sage known for its vibrant violet-blue blooms that appear from late spring through frost, making it a standout in containers, borders, and pollinator gardens. It exhibits a self-branching, mounded habit that resists breakage and shipping shrink, and in warmer climates it can overwinter, though in cooler regions it may be used as an annual. Developed by the Darwin Perennials breeding program, it is part of the Mirage® series of Salvia greggii cultivars, which emphasize strong color, long bloom duration, and low maintenance performance, with licensing and plant-protection arrangements in place for propagation.
