Cornus Drummondii Roughleaf Dogwood can reach heights of 6 to 15 feet and is a small deciduous tree. For hedges or informal screens, it works beautifully. The leaves of Roughleaf Dogwood are elliptic to oval-shaped, with a velvety underside and a slightly rough upper surface. As fall approaches, the foliage takes on purple and scarlet hues. The shrub grows well in full sun to partial shade and average, moist to wet, and acidic to neutral soils. It blooms at the tips of the branches from mid-spring to early summer with flat-topped clusters of creamy-yellow flowers. The flowers turn into white, spherical, fleshy berries in the late summer.
